Over the past 17 years, LAMDA has grown from a grassroots organization in the Chicago metropolitan area to a national entity, conducting health programs and training services in 17 cities across the USA. We have developed a curriculum for healthcare providers that is now implemented nationwide. Additionally, LAMDA has created an evidence-based health program for caregivers sensitive to the needs of underserved communities.
LAMDA’s tireless efforts have not gone unnoticed, earning recognition from esteemed media outlets such as CNN, the Chicago Tribune, the LA Times, Univision USA, NBC, the Seattle Times, and the MILKEN Institute. Through our face-to-face programming, we have touched the lives of over 13,800 individuals in more than 17 cities across the USA, inspiring hope and promoting health equity.
LAMDA’s collaborative spirit extends to the Administration for Community Living (ACL) and the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) in the USA. Through these partnerships, we have certified 147 Community Health Workers at the City Colleges of Chicago, serving, empowering, and educating more than 14,700 individuals from underserved communities.
